Terminology

This attempts to explain some #thecabin-specific terminology that has accumulated over the years that may be a help to some newcomers or perusers of this site. I’m sure madcow can be a better help in writing the definitions in more proper English. I no right english to good.

l33t sp34k

A lot of these terms may be explained by a simple explanation of l33t speak (or r33t speak in our case). This form of spelling lenience can be characterized by replacing letters with numbers and using synonymous or close to synonymous spellings of words.

Take the word l33t itself. This is a form of the word 3l33t, which translated back into the purely alpha-based alphabet turns into eleet. It can then be seen that this is a synonymous mispelling of elite.

The Terms

an0r

Back in the mists of time it was written

old wisdom says one with the love of another up the land of no entry
shall experience the peace that no others can understand.
-- The gospel according to CabinDude (Quote 435)

These ancient words of wisdom have transcended generations of names going from the harsh futtbucking to the medical terminology of anal sex. Now we refer to it as an0r, or the l33tized version of anal. Please know that most of #thecabin do not condone backdoor boning.

It is rumored that madcow is inhabited by a demon which forces him to want an0r all the time from everyone.

azn

One who is from Asian descent. Please note that this targets a very specific portion of Asians. While it does not regard a person from one portion of Asia from another (such as just Chinese or Japanese) it instead targets those of Asian heritage that like to f00k us at #thecabin over. BobbyT and Real-ity are fond of this one.

big button

Many toilets in madcow‘s current home in Oxford have two buttons, a small one for half flushes, and a big button for full flushes. Thus by extension we use the term “big button” to refer to any excretion which requires the use of the big button for proper disposal.

Usage is as follows.

Man I just ate a lot of Mexican food, I'm gonna go hit the big button.

The corresponding term “little button” is also used, though not nearly as frequently.

jubbliez

Yet another word referring to the breasts of women. Also can be referred to as b00bz, bewbs and a variety of other terms. We at #thecabin appreciate them, condone their existence, and applaud those who have them. You may also see these referred to in ascii art:

(.)(.)

Or the more voluptuous:

( o Y o )
ohbobbyt

A reference to the famous Oh BobbyT! (mp3) sound clip created by our very own soulrae. Typically you will also hear this in reference to anyone’s nick. oh[insert your nick] is a reference to this as well.

Everyone secretly wishes they had their own oh[name] sound. It is an honor to have one.

r33t

The essence of #thecabin. The reason why we exist.

One possible formulation of this word is to take the word l33t and pretend you’re an azn and say it. Go ahead and do that now. Get it?

Smileys

Several current and former cabiners have used some rather unorthodox smileys which have since entered the cabin mainstream to some extent. The following are the most common.

Form Meaning
^^ anime expression of happiness introduced by SltSorrow. Mock imitations of this smiley include ##, vv, and many other paired symbols.
>< anime expression of sadness or annoyance (furled brows) introduced by SltSorrow
:X multi-purpose expression introduced by bASSchica, described as “placing one’s hands over one’s mouth”
:O expression of surprise or shock introduced by bASSchica.

Other Terms

Here is a quick table of other substitutions we make. They don’t have as much of a back story as the other terms do. Note that all o’s can be replaced with 0’s, etc.

A possibility of the j letter lexicon is brought to us by past cabiner Blake who would make typos of “heaheahea” and instead come out with “jeajeajea”. From there came “jeah”, and that lead to “jup” as an acknowledgment.
